Spring in Sabina: May events organised by Sabina Parco Slow

Nine events to discover Sabina through nature, local identity and authenticity

Spring in Sabina is the calendar of events promoted and organised by Sabina Parco Slow, a network of local businesses of which GeoSabina is also a member, created with the aim of enhancing Sabina through authentic, sustainable experiences deeply connected to its places.

Throughout the month of May 2026, the initiative offers a programme of events including nature excursions, canoe routes, tastings, villages and encounters with local flavours, shaping a narrative of Sabina that brings together landscape, hospitality, businesses, local culture and a desire to experience places in a more conscious way.

For GeoSabina, giving visibility to initiatives like this means supporting a shared vision of territorial promotion: building networks, enhancing local businesses, creating opportunities for discovery and telling the story of Sabina as a living, coherent and recognisable system. This is exactly where the work of Sabina Parco Slow fits in as well, bringing together operators, experiences and communities around a concrete idea of territory.

 

The May 2026 events organised by Sabina Parco Slow:

Saturday, 2 May – Mountain celebration at Osteria Tancia

Trek to the Cave of San Michele and the Devil’s Pools with a tasting of local products.

Sunday, 3 May – Adventure among the trees in the Sabine Mountains

Suspended routes at Fontecerro between adventure and the flavours of the territory.

Saturday, 9 May – Truffles and landscapes of Sabina

A walk through woods and meadows with truffle hunting, wild herbs and tastings at an agriturismo.

Sunday, 10 May – At a slow pace, in the footsteps of Francis

A walk among paths, scents and the delights of the village of Cicignano.

Saturday, 16 May – By canoe in the Tevere-Farfa Nature Reserve

Canoe excursion on the Tiber, visit to a farm and organic products to discover.

Saturday, 23 May – The Meadows of Cottanello and Sabina olive oil

An excursion through panoramic landscapes and nature, with a visit to the olive mill and an EVO oil tasting.

Sunday, 24 May – Vescovio, Rocchettine and the Chianina Festival

A guided excursion between the ghost village and the flavours of the Sabina countryside.

Saturday, 30 May – Between Water and Land

A canoe excursion on the Tiber among nature and the flavours of Sabina, with an aperitif at an agriturismo.

Sunday, 31 May – The Collevecchio Ring

A walk along the Way of Saint Francis through the village, rural landscape and a tasting at an agriturismo.

 

Sabina Parco Slow, GeoSabina and a shared vision of territory

The Spring in Sabina calendar clearly reflects the direction pursued by Sabina Parco Slow: promoting the territory through experiences that bring together nature, material culture, food and wine, and encounters with local communities. It is a concrete way of building networks and giving value back to Sabina through proposals capable of engaging visitors, communities and businesses.

In this path, GeoSabina, as a member of the network, recognises a value fully consistent with its own mission: contributing to the construction of a stronger, more visible and more united territorial system, in which events, places, operators and communities can grow together and increasingly tell the identity of Sabina in an effective way.

Note: the calendar collected here covers the events scheduled for May 2026. The Spring in Sabina initiative, organised by Sabina Parco Slow, will continue in June with new events.
