From 28 August to 6 September, you can find us in the heart of Rieti at the Rieti World Chili Pepper Fair, hosted by 42GradiNord.

GeoSabina is also taking part in the Rieti World Chili Pepper Fair, which will animate the historic centre of the city until 6 September with its fifteenth edition.

Throughout the event, you can find us as guests of 42GradiNord, a GeoSabina partner specialising in outdoor experiences in the area. The stand is located in Piazza Cavour, on the Ponte Romano.

Following the opening of the GeoSabina Info Point in Poggio Mirteto, our presence at the Fair is another opportunity to meet beyond our digital channels. A chance to tell you what we are working on and perhaps suggest a village, an experience or a place in Sabina that you have yet to discover.

Ten days of events in the centre of Rieti

The World Chili Pepper Fair has become one of the best-known events of the summer in Rieti. From 28 August to 6 September, it brings exhibitions and food events to the streets and squares of the city centre, along with an evening programme of live shows.

At the Chiostro di Sant’Agostino, the traditional international exhibition brings together around 800 varieties of chili pepper from different parts of the world.

The Fair is also an opportunity to discover local products and tell the story of an important part of Sabina’s food culture.

30 years of Sabina PDO celebrated on 6 September

This year there is an additional reason to follow the final day of the Fair.

On 6 September, the event will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sabina PDO recognition, one of the products most closely connected with the agricultural history of this territory.

Sabina PDO extra virgin olive oil received European recognition in 1996. Its production area extends across the provinces of Rieti and Rome and includes many of the municipalities that we feature every day on GeoSabina.

Thirty years of PDO recognition are therefore an anniversary that is closely linked to Sabina and its relationship with the olive tree, a presence that has shaped the landscape of these hills for centuries.
