Before the year 1894 the town hall of Stimigliano was located in Corso Umberto at number 31. Later, in the same place where the ancient parish church of Beata Maria Vergine was, the authorities began the new construction for the municipal offices.
The intention was to build the school on the street level and above the town hall, but the lack of funds limited the construction work to the school only. In April 1894 it was decided to execute the project by Eng. Ettore Bernich, but the civil engineering office found problems with this project and advised against starting it, therefore Bernich developed a new one which was finally accepted.
The execution of the works was contracted out to Mr. Luigi Ricci on 11 September 1894.
