The Museum was established by the Lazio Region in 1989 and is housed in Palazzo Gori; it is distributed on three floors and the finds are exhibited according to provenance and presented in chronological succession and this allows us to trace the fundamental lines of the Sabine civilization.

On the ground floor of the Museum there are, in fact, a series of materials dating back to the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic, an aspect that is particularly interesting given that there was no knowledge of the sites along the Tiber of such ancient times.

The first floor concerns the Protohistoric and Archaic sections; the reconnaissance and studies made it possible to identify the occupation of this territory in the recent and final Bronze Age as well as the final phase of the Iron Age.
Research in the necropolis has brought to light several brown-impasto and black-painted vases and a collection of iron weapons.

The second floor, on the other hand, deals with the Hellenistic phase, Romanization and the Middle Ages in the Sabine lands.
