The sixteenth-century House of Monsignor Fido in Toffia was previously home for prelates linked to the bishopric of Toffia as Palazzo Gabrielli (Gabrielli Palace).

Apart from the impressive entrance portal, a first floor room with the coffered ceiling covering in painted wood must be stressed, and was considered so special to be contextually bound.

Being part of the Fido family, we would remind and stress the importance of the poet and playwright Peter. We would specifically stress the early work published by his son Francis in 1634 “The enchantment of Circe: pastoral fable of Mr Peter Fido from Toffia” and the collaboration with the famous playwright from Toffia – Cristofaro Sicinio – for whome he edited the Aura pastoral fable volume of Cristofaro Sicinio, published in 1605.
