In the district of the old town of Toffia, in a typical seventeenth-century palace, the so-called La Rocca , the artist’s father house is hosting today the Maria Petrucci Museum, since 1991: an exhibition permanent space not to be missed, where you can only admire the artist’s peculiar work (oil paintings, walnut wood carvings and many other experimental materials) the traditional objects of country life, testimonies of the rural civilization typical in Sabina once.

The vistor is accompained through this emotional trip, full of emotions and memories, by Maria Petrucci in person, who widly opens her house – museum doors, greeting the vistors and telling about her life as an artist and the history of Toffia.

The museum is made up of five rooms edificated in three levels (two for exhibitions, and the third reserved for the artist’s writing and painting study): the first room is fully dedicated to paintings, works in exeprimental materials and beautiful wooden sculptures; reached the living room, with the old seventeenth-century fireplace, you can admire more than 20 oil paintings, as well as sculptures and other works of contemporary art.

Wooden sculptures are also exposed in the small hallway leading to the last room, culminating with objects of rural and agro-forestry-pastoral culture together with working house tools – some discarded in the natural path of the progress – litterally spanning the locations, and others jealously preserved over the years by the family. Among the others, the table and the chairs belonging to the Rimini Office of Mussolini and the King Vittorio Emanuele III pipe, a soldier from Mantua’s gift, are notable.
