The Castel San Pietro grinding wheel is a historic building dating back to the 13th century. It is one of the most important examples of industrial archeology in Sabina, and is a symbol of the culture and history of this area.It is located along the course of the Farfa River, at a point where the river forms a waterfall. The building consists of a single room, with a high barrel vault where ,in the center of the room, is the millstone that is fed by the water of the waterfall.
The millstone was used for the production of flour, and was an important resource for the local population. In the past, it was operated by a miller, who was responsible for grinding grain.
Restored later in 2000, it is now open to visitors by reservation. In addition, the building has been included among the cultural assets of the Municipality of Poggio Mirteto, and is an important testimony to local history and culture.

The small brick chimney is still standing firm, and the various bodies of which this mill was composed are also still in fair condition.

On one facade there is still a small shrine with Madonna.
