Casa Appennino

Art, yoga, nature

We are not in nature, we are nature.

We are Angelo and Carla, we are husband and wife, and from the sharing of our experiences and skills Casa Appennino was born, which aims to spread well-being and beauty in close relationship with nature.

Casa Appennino is an ancient house in the small village of Ponticelli Sabino, a hamlet of the municipality of Scandriglia in the province of Rieti, a stop on the renowned Via di Francesco near the Monti Lucretili Regional Natural Park, just 45 minutes from Rome. It was born with the intent of becoming an ecosystem where you can live shared experiences through art, yoga, hiking, sports in nature and physical activity, tools capable of generating psychophysical well-being, helping to promote and enhance the environmental, social and cultural heritage of the area.

It is our home and the headquarters of our professional activities, but it is also a project that welcomes a program of interdisciplinary residences, workshops, exhibitions, nature walks, seminars and relational activities, in order to generate awareness and build communities around common goals. A project of this type, starting from the bottom but supported by competence, passion and sharing, represents a model capable of generating care for the territory, sustainable micro-economies, common visions, new perspectives, educational processes of the new generations, discovery of unexplored riches and non-abandonment of places.

Casa Appennino is therefore a space that gives Home to shared emotions and skills to build reality and future. Casa Appennino is what it is, what it wants and what it can be, a living organism that listens and listens to itself, forms and modifies, with simplicity and without rigid schemes.

It is a place for artist friends who want to spend time together, paint in the studio or in the village, draw at the bar or walk in the woods, talk or stay in silence.
It is a room full of energy where you can practice yoga and meditation or guided physical activities.
It is the Regional Natural Park of the Lucretili Mountains where you can go on wonderful excursions.
It is a laboratory of ideas where you can experiment with the practice of drawing, painting and learn about the history of art.
It is a residence where artists, guides and yoga teachers meet to share their experiences.
It is a process that finds value in its completion.

Experiences

Hiking

Hiking

Daily or multi-day excursions in every season of the year in the mountains of the central Apennines and in particular on the Lucretili Mountains, the Natural Reserve of Monte Navegna and Monte Cervia, the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga.

Yoga practices and painting in nature often accompany our treks. These activities are also offered in the form of experiential weekends with the possibility of staying at Casa Appennino.

yoga

Yoga

Over the years I have deepened my contact with the mountain, I find it deeply meditative and closely related to yoga and meditation, so I felt the desire to organize excursions that include walking experienced under an experiential aspect, of observation and listening to nature and one’s body, followed by a yoga practice wrapped in the silence of the summit reached, or at the foot of a mountain.

I practice and teach yoga with dedication, consistency and seriousness.

arte

Art

“I paint to return home. Painting is my map made of sweat, wind, cold, sun, climbs and descents, it is the construction of the path.” A painting is like a new path, which we discover by walking along it with our steps.

The experience aims to stimulate our creativity and share together the practice of painting in the environment. A program of excursions and painting workshops in the Monti Lucretili park and in Angelo’s studio.
