Info & bookings

One of the most fascinating experiences you can have in Rieti is going down the Velino River in a rafting raft, accompanied by experienced guides. The clear, calm waters of the Velino allow for soft sailing, ideal for families, children and groups of friends. However, there is no shortage of adrenaline-pumping moments with diving and current swimming for those who want a more dynamic experience.

Packrafting is not only an adventurous activity, but also represents a new way of experiencing direct contact with nature. Thanks to its lightweight and maneuverable structure, it allows people to explore rivers, lakes and streams even in hard-to-reach areas, providing an immersive and engaging experience.

It is a boat similar in some respects to a raft and in others to an inflatable canoe. Single-seater it is steered with a double paddle like a Kayak. Very safe and easy to steer it allows a neophyte accompanied by a guide and well equipped to approach even 1st grade and 2nd grade rivers right away.

Anoutdoor activity suitable for those seeking an immersive experience in nature, the packraft descent down the Velino River allows you to explore one of the clearest and most picturesque stretches of central Italy.

The excursion begins with an off-road transfer to the boarding point. After packraft preparation and a technical briefing, you enter the water with an initial calm section, ideal for familiarizing yourself with navigation. From here, the route continues following the current, between light rapids and calm sections where you can stop, photograph and enjoy the scenery.

The route crosses river environments rich in vegetation and winds its way to the Cavallotti Bridge, where you face a short rapid. Next, you enter the historic center of Rieti: the pace slows and the current accompanies you among buildings, remains of the Roman bridge and aquatic wildlife such as ducks and mallards. In some stretches it is possible to bathe.

The descent ends at the John XXIII Bridge lock, after traveling along one of the most fascinating segments of the Velino, starting at the confluence with the Salto River.
