The parish church of St. Peter and Thomas in Montasola  is built almost at the top of the built-up area and holds an epigraph, placed on the entrance door to the church, which gives us the date of the founding of the town in the year 1191 by Pope Celestine III, at the same time recalling the construction of the church dedicated to the apostles Peter and Thomas
Initially there were five altars besides the main altar(probably one has been dismantled completely, as it is now missing): the main altar is dedicated to the SS. Blessed Sacrament and to Our Lady of the Assumption. In the central niche of the apse is a wooden statue of Our Lady of the Assumption; to its right is a statue depicting St. Anthony, and to its left is another image of Our Lady, venerated in the worship of the Sabine peoples.
The frescoes depict The Madonna with Saints Eusebius and John, the same ones encountered in the paintings placed on the choir wall in addition to St. Peter and Thomas.
On the outside, the church’s facade does not present a high artistic value; beyond the epigraphs that appear on it, it reveals itself to be nothing more than a simple plastered facade. One of the reasons could be precisely the high number of renovations and remodeling carried out to the church over the centuries; so much so that, it turns out, the original direction may not coincide with the current direction of the church;further justified by the fact that the facade is addressed not on a square or a street that enjoys visibility, typical of a place dedicated to religious worship, but squeezed between the small streets that characterize the medieval structure of the village.
