It stands out for its monumentality. It was one of the first episcopal seminaries to be established after the Council of Trent.

The decision to erect it is to be ascribed to Cardinal Gabriele Paleotti, the conciliar father, and we find it exhibited in a document dated April 19, 1592, contained in a register kept in the diocesan archive of Sabina-Poggio Mirteto; from the same, it is clear that there was a sort of competition to understand where this should be established and that despite having decided in some way that the seminar would have arisen in Magliano, other proposals would not have been discarded “but even at present it will be proposed more skilful and more comfortable place, we will be willing to accept it; and again, exhorting the archpriests of Sabina to reassure everyone that the seminary would not take its name from the place where it would have risen, “having to call itself, wherever he settles, Seminary of Sabina”. There were many offers, but Magliano won the tender, as stated in the “Istrumentum obligationis magnificae Communitatis Malleani pro Seminario”, dated 13 December 1592 which was drafted by representatives of the Magliano community and the Sabina seminary. It is worth remembering that Magliano ceded the community building to the Seminary and precisely the apartment of residence of the priors.

As we read later, in the same manuscript, it came to April 29, 1593, when Cardinal Paleotti, finished the synod, preceded by all the clergy of Magliano and the diocese of Sabina and the people, luminaribus accensis accompanied the 12 young people dressed in the clerical habit in the building prepared for them. A plaque placed on the facade commemorates San Giovanni Bosco, who was its rector (1876-1883).
