The ancient Solimani palace, later Mariotti Solimani, adjacent to the Episcopal Seminary, is of pleasant architecture and one of the most important in Magliano Sabina: it was extensively restored by the famous architect Alberto Calza Bini, senator of the Kingdom.
The Mariotti family, already ancient in Perugia, exiled from this city in the mid-16th century following the fall of the Baglioni, exercised the highest magistracies uninterruptedly and was primary in Magliano Sabina.
The first news about the Solimani family comes in 1316 when Petrus Berardi Solimani appears in a dispute between the citizens of Aspra (Casperia) and the Vicar General of Sabina. Silvano and Mario Solimani are among the eight citizens in charge of drafting the “reformation” of the Statutes of the city of Magliano which took place in 1575 and published in 1594. The Solimani weapons are inlaid in the marble of the Mariotti altar in the Cathedral of Sabina, S. Liberatore . Anna Solimani, married in 1720 to Angelo Antonio Mariotti, and was the last of her family.
