The trail is dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Second World War and the Resistance. The trail begins at the Poggio Mirteto train station and develops along a circular route of about 10 kilometers that passes through woods, paths, rural roads and historical sites.<\/p>\n

The trail touches the following points of interest:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • The Poggio Mirteto train station, where there is a monument dedicated to the partisans who fell in the battle of Poggio Mirteto (1944).<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The partisan cemetery, where the fallen of the battle of Poggio Mirteto are buried.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Collelungo stone quarry, where some partisans were shot in 1944.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Collelungo cemetery, where the civilians killed by the Nazi-Fascists in 1944 are buried.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Collelungo rest home, where a concentration camp for Jews and political prisoners was hosted.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The memory walk is a challenging journey, but it is also a significant experience<\/strong>. The journey allows you to learn about the history of the Second World War<\/strong> and the Resistance in Sabina<\/strong>, and to reflect on the victims of this tragedy.<\/p>\n
