To the beloved memory of 19 citizens from Toffia “fallen on the field of glory” during the Great War in 1915-18, a War Memorial Monument stands in Piazza Umberto I (Umberto I Square) in Toffia.
The Monument was inaugurated on September 19, 1919 “to the presence of the Provincial Council with the lawyer Luigi Pacieri, the Mayor Gaspare Castellani Brancaleoni, the Crown Prosecutor Spartaco Manzoni, the Prior of the Benedictine Monks of Farfa and the whole citizenship […] with applauded speeches of Prof. Angelo Vico, army major decorated on the warfield with the Medal to Honor in Bainsizza (October 10, 1917), the Isonzo eleventh battle”.
On the Monument were added 4 names at a later stage, four youngs from Toffia “who fell on the battlefields” in the years 1940-1945.
